Gamayun is a prophetic bird of Russian folklore. It is a symbol of wisdom and knowledge and lives on an island in the east, close to paradise.
They just don’t make ‘em anymore like Sierra of the mid ’90s. Quest for Glory IV was my favorite. It had a great gothic/Lovecraftian meets D&D meets slavic mythology atmosphere.
The soundtrack was great too (if not entirely original), but maybe that’s just the nostalgia kicking in.1
Like the old 8-bit sidescrollers that are enjoying a nice resurgence in popularity on the App Store, I hope this point-and-click adventure genre makes a comeback. iPad developers? Sierra?
